Drax Group plc is a UK-based renewable power generation company founded in 2005 and headquartered in Selby, North Yorkshire. It operates in the utilities sector, focusing on renewable energy production and supply. The company owns several power generation assets, including the Drax Power Station, the largest in the UK, and the Cruachan Power Station, a pumped storage hydro facility. Drax also operates hydro-electric power stations in Lanark and Galloway. The company is organized into segments such as Pellet Production, Biomass Generation, Flexible Generation, and Energy Solutions. Drax produces and sells compressed wood pellets for biomass fuel and generates electricity from various renewable sources, including biomass and hydro.
